We are proud to present our first Monthly Newsletter!!!
Each month we will be giving you an exciting update on how Pumpernickel Press is doing and any new happenings here in the Shenandoah Valley. Each month’s issue will contain wonderful excerpts about what really goes on here at Pumpernickel Press revealing our dedication and true passion. Add in a little color and fun, mix it all up, and that’s the Pumpernickel way.

Our first 10 years we were just getting started, this year we are striving for excellence. We are “Going the Second Mile in our Second Decade.” In these next 10 years we committed to going further than required, giving extra and developing the finest greeting cards available in the marketplace. We’ll try and keep you updated and hopefully you will enjoy what we bring to you each month.

New York Stationery Show
We just returned from the annual New York Stationery show. Owner Bob Harju shared his enthusiasm for this year’s show - “It is very important for us to be at the Stationery show each year. It is who and what we are, we’re members of the GCA (Greeting Card Association), and it is our time to be in front of buyers each year. We always have a great show and we are looking forward to having another great one in 2009.” Attending the show was our new sales manager Jim Thomas, employees Dana Fogle (Urquhart), Robby & Ryan Harju, and Owner Bob Harju. Month of May Sales & Specials:
DON’T FORGET that May 31st is the final day to get our “Early Order Special.” Just like in 2007 we are offering a 10% discount on all Christmas orders received on or before MAY 31ST for a ship date on or after August 1ST!!!! Orders must be faxed in by midnight the 31st. We need the orders early to produce product ready to ship by 8/1.

April Sales Results are in!
We had our best month of April that we’ve ever had in our wonderful 10 years of business. So everyone that got out there and made April such a great sales month, we thank you.

April’s #1 sales rep was Malisa Johnson. Congratulations Malisa, for the highest sales last month. Malisa represents Alger Sales Group in Michigan. Malisa and the Alger Sales Reps are one of our newest rep groups and joined the team in March.

This is Bo, Jim's dog. He loves babytalk!	New Sales Manager! Last March Pumpernickel announced the addition of a new Sales Manager, Jim Thomas. Jim has jumped on board the Pumpernickel Press train as a consultant to manage our outside sales force. He will be responsible for acquiring reps in territories uncovered and working to grow our overall rep business. Jim was a top sales representative for Gib Carson out of the Southeast market and was the National Sales Manager for Highland Graphics, a top coaster and trivet line. Jim has been involved with Pumpernickel Press as a key account rep since 2005 and has introduced us to many of our best accounts. He has seen first hand our success in the market and is ecstatic about the potential growth opportunity in 2008. Jim has a keen understanding of the gift buyer and the gift market. Jim will be working closely with us to help Pumpernickel Press flood the retailers with this beautiful line of cards. Jim shares the passion and vision we all have here at Pumpernickel.
	Goodbye Chris Beaudin We bid a fond farewell to our former Marketing Coordinator Chris Beaudin. He has left Pumpernickel Press to further his career in Marketing with the opportunity to work in Radio at Clear Communications in Winchester, Virginia. Even though Chris was only with us for 15 months he still was able to help us bring our marketing & representation aspect to a new level. Best wishes to Chris and our thanks to you as well.
	Wedding News! Congratulations are in order to our newest employee, Dana Fogle (Urquhart). Dana and her husband Peter were recently married on April 26, 2008. Congrats to the happy couple!
	Baby News! Congratulations to Katie Carter. Katie and her fiance Rob are expecting their first child this Fall.


	We love wildlife here at Pumpernickel and are lucky enough to be surrounded by it. A couple weeks ago, a curious skunk walked right up to the back of our building and wandering straight into one of the down spouts. You never know, we may introduce a skunk card to our 2009 line!
